Videography is becoming more and more popular for everything these days. Wedding videography is no different. The times have changed and you won’t get knocked over by the guy with the huge camcorder from 1993. They have streamlined video recorders a lot. You almost can’t have your wedding without having a video of it! Wedding videography isn’t such a huge deal anymore – you can hire someone to come and record the vows and the ceremony, and then have them come on over to the reception for the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
They will often go around the reception asking your guests to give you well wishes and they will candidly catch you in the action of blushing they’ll get the toast, and the first dance! Wedding videographers can be booked through your wedding planner, and often need to be booked with a good amount of advance notice, as most good wedding videographers are busy during wedding season! Remember that a wedding videographer not only spends his time at the wedding capturing footage, but he then must go and watch the footage he captured (double time) and then edit it. Editing itself can take twice the time that the taping of the video actually took.
For example, if you hire a wedding videographer for 4 hours, they will bring their videography equipment and take 4 hours worth of video. They then have to go and watch those four hours of footage. Add the editing time in (double is standard) of about 8 hours, that’s a huge chunk of time. Make sure you coordinate well with the videographer exactly what you want captured, so there are no questions later. Having got over all of the precautions and warnings, having a wedding DVD to watch for the rest of your life is something that you almost can’t afford not to do! Though this will be one of the more expensive things on your list, it will be the one that captures you on the best day of your life with the one you will spend the rest of your life with. Don’t hesitate to ask for a quote and availability while you are at it. If you have a wedding planner, make sure that they know exactly what you want so that they can convey this to the wedding videographer. Your wedding video will be something that you will cherish forever, and it will be something that you can pass down in the family. Often times you can get a deal if you go with that certain company’s photographers, also. Think of it as a package deal. The more work you give them, the more of a discount they can give you. Don’t forget to refer others to the company you choose if they do a good job. Often times, they will give referred clients a discount, and give you a kick back , as well! |
